BACH DANG SHIPBUILDING COMPANY: LAUNCHING OF 9,300 M3 INTERNATIONAL CHEMICAL TANKER - GREAT WHALE

On August 9, 2025, Bach Dang Shipbuilding Company (a member unit of SBIC Shipbuilding Industry Corporation) organized the launching of the 9,300m3 international chemical tanker - GREAT WHALE (design symbol RT 93 - 26). Attending the event were comrades: Pham Hoai Chung - Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Members; Ngo Tung Lam - Member of the Board of Members; Nguyen Tien Dat - Deputy General Director of the Corporation. Mr. Nguyen Kien Cuong - Director of PTC Petroleum Technology Joint Stock Company and partners, investors, staff, workers and employees of Bach Dang Shipbuilding Company.
The chemical tanker with the symbol RT93-26, an important product in the Company's order chain, is the result of a serious, dedicated and creative labor process of the Company's staff, engineers and workers. This is one of the key products in the 2025 production and business plan, making practical achievements to celebrate major holidays, especially the success of the 30th Bach Dang Shipbuilding Company Party Congress; the 5th Congress of the Corporation's Party Committee, term 2025-2030 and the Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
The RT93-26 chemical tanker is a product with high technical requirements and strict quality standards, ensuring full compliance with the regulations of the Vietnam Register and international standards on maritime safety, environment and operation. The ship is designed to operate in international waters, with unlimited class, with the following basic technical parameters:
- Maximum length (Lmax): 120.90 m
- Design length (Ltk): 112.90 m
- Width (B): 17.60 m
- Side height (D): 9.30 m
- Design draft (d): 7.12 m
- Gross tonnage: 7,990 tons
- Total capacity (GT): 5,264
- Ship class: *VRH TOB, CTII&III, ACCOM.NC, PSPC-WBT, ESP.
- Built according to TCVN technical standards and under the close supervision of Registration Department No. 10 - Vietnam Register.
