Halong Shipbuilding Company.
Halong Shipbuilding Company (HLS) was established on 15/11/1976 on an area of ~50 ha, adjacent to Cai Lan deep-water port, near Ha Long Bay. This is a cooperation project between the two Governments of Vietnam and Poland. Halong Shipyard is located in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province, which is adjacent to important port cities like Ha Long, Hai Phong, and well located for waterway, rail, and road traffic. Halong Shipyard is a wholly-owned subsidiary of THE VIETNAM SHIPBUILDING INDUSTRY CORPORATION (SBIC).
Facilities and Capabilities:
- Longitudinal slipway L="250m," B="36m;" with sufficient support equipment is
capable to build and launch vessels up to 55,00 DWT;
- The 70,000DWT semi-dry dock 352m x 48m with 400T gate crane;
- Transverse slipway of 240m long, ensures launching for 25,000 DWT vessels.
- Flat panel fabricating line;
- Block trailer 150T;
- Hull workshop (220m x 88m) with system of 12 overhead cranes of 25T - 50T and 3 shaft plate rolling machine, 02 hydraulic press of 1,000T and 1,500T, CNC profile bending machine;
- Blasting and painting workshops for sections and blocks of vessels.
With the effective use of current facilities and resources, the company has been focusing on personnel development, management renewal, investment in upgrading and expanding the Ha Long Shipyard as well as application of the science achievements and advanced technology in production, the Company has built different types of ships such as 1,100 TEU, 1,700 TEU, 1,800 TEU container ships, 53,000 DWT bulk vessels,4,900 Unit Car Carriers, fishery inspection vessel series meet classification society Inquiries Standards as: BV; DNV; ABS; VR, … for International and domestic shipowners.

Orderlist of signed contracts:
- In 2022 signed a contract for the new building of 8 Commissioning Service Operations Vessels (CSOV) with Damen Shipyard;
- In 2024 signed a contract for the new building of 6 Commissioning Service Operations Vessels (CSOV) with Damen Shipyard;
- In 2024, the Company has deployed the construction of 13 ships, including:
- 9 export ships (8 Commissioning Service Operations Vessel (CSOV); 1 passenger vessel L="120m)"
- 4 domestic vessels (2 x 45,000DWT cargo vessels; 1 x overnight cruise vessel and 1x 24,500 DWT vessel).
- Signing a contract to build a new 120m passenger ship No.3 between Ha Long Shipbuilding Company and Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours Company at the 10th International Exhibition on Shipbuilding and Offshore Technology (Vietship 2025), which opened in Hanoi on March 5:
Regarding the plan of production in 2025, Ha Long Shipbuilding Company plans to launch 05 ships and hand over 04 ships to the shipowner.
Halong Shipyard with a full portfolio by 2027 and is continuing to promote signing new contracts for other high-value products such as tourist ships, oil tankers, and cargo ships for the period 2027-2030.
